The Wheeldale is a warm and welcoming four star guesthouse set in an enviable location on top of Whitby's west cliff. Graced with dramatic sea views from a number of its stylish and comfortable guest rooms, the Wheeldale offers a comfortable and relaxing guest experience.

Accessible Ground Floor Room Now Available!

The Wheeldale is constantly innovating to meet the needs of its guests and is now one of very few guesthouses in Whitby to offer its guests facilities including Sky television (movies and sports) and wireless internet access, in all rooms. As a result, The Wheeldale has won TripAdvisor's certificate of excellence two years running in both 2012 and 2013 and we look forward to continuing to uphold our high standards over the years to come.

In the last few months we've added 3 extra rooms to our accommodation, including a spacious and accessible ground floor room with private entrance. This year we have plans for more work, including adding a Juliet Balcony to one of our upstairs bedrooms, providing even better coastal views.

Above everything else we would like to welcome you to the Wheeldale and will do our level best to ensure you get the most from your stay.

A Note on Parking

The Wheeldale has private car parking available for up to 7 guest's vehicles. If you use our car park, you may be blocked in until the following morning. However, parking on North Promenade is free and entirely unrestricted and there is usually some space available close to The Wheeldale.
